JOB SUMMARY

  • Location: Eindhoven, National Swimming Centre De Tongelreep. 
  • Working hours: 28-32 hours per week. 
  • Contract: Part-time.
  • Education level: MBO level 3 or 4.
  • Salary: 2.903€ – 3.655€ (gross per month based on 38 hours).

As Swimming Lessons Coordinator, you will play a central role in the quality and development of swimming education at Dutch Dolphin Swimming Club. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Swimming Lessons Coordinator, you will be the educational and operational point of contact for the swimming lesson team.

You will coordinate the lessons, support instructors and monitor the quality and consistency of our swimming programmes.

You will also work as a lead swimming instructor in the pool. Alongside teaching, you will coach instructors, support new colleagues and contribute to the continuous improvement of our teaching methodology, lesson structure and educational approach.

Another important part of your role will be communicating with parents and customers. You will answer questions about swimmers’ progress, group placement, progression to the next level, additional support and our general teaching approach.

You will make sure that parents understand their child’s current level and what the next step in their swimming journey will be.

THIS IS YOU

You are an experienced swimming instructor who cares deeply about helping people learn to swim safely and confidently.

You are able to maintain an overview of the lessons, recognise opportunities for improvement and provide instructors with practical guidance and support.

You enjoy being active in the pool, but you also gain energy from coaching colleagues, supporting new instructors and improving the content and structure of swimming lessons.

You believe that children learn best when they have fun, feel safe and are given opportunities to experience and discover movement in the water. Learning through play, implicit learning and positive energy are all part of your approach.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the content and delivery of swimming lessons.
  • Work as a lead swimming instructor in the pool.
  • Act as the first point of contact for swimming instructors.
  • Coach, guide and support instructors in their professional development.
  • Support and onboard new colleagues.
  • Monitor the safety, quality and consistency of swimming lessons.
  • Improve lesson structure, teaching methods and educational content.
  • Communicate with parents about progress, group placement and progression.
  • Identify when swimmers may need additional guidance or support.
  • Contribute to the educational development of the Kidsclub and Youthclub.
  • Support the continued development of innovative swimming education.

What You Bring

Essential requirements:

  • MBO level 3 or 4 working and thinking ability.
  • A recognised Swimming ABC Instructor qualification or a comparable swimming education qualification.
  • Extensive experience as a swimming instructor.
  • Experience coaching, guiding or supervising colleagues.
  • Strong teaching and educational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with parents, customers and colleagues.
  • A clear focus on safety, enjoyment and quality.
  • Availability during lesson times, including evenings and Saturdays.

 

Preffered qualifications:

  • An interest in implicit learning, learning through play and innovative swimming education.
  • An interest in different aquatic sports.
  • First aid, emergency response, AED or lifesaving qualifications.
  • A willingness to obtain any required safety or lifesaving qualifications.
